Register Your Warranty — Free, Takes 2 Minutes

Extended coverage is free, but it must be activated.

  1. Create your Madenwell account at madenwell.com/account using the same email address you used at checkout.
  2. Do this within 30 days of your purchase date.

That's it — your order is linked automatically and your extended coverage is active. You'll get a confirmation email. If you don't register within 30 days, your product remains covered by the 1-year standard warranty.

Non-Pro-Rated Coverage

Bathtub shell warranties are non-pro-rated. If a covered defect appears in year 18, you receive the same remedy you would have received in year 1 — we do not reduce the value of your claim based on how long you have owned the tub.

What We Will Do

If we confirm a covered defect, Madenwell will, at our option, repair the product, replace it with the same or a comparable current model, or refund the original purchase price.

When a claim is approved as a manufacturing defect, Madenwell pays all shipping costs, including return freight on the defective unit.

Madenwell does not cover the cost of removing or reinstalling a bathtub, plumbing labor, or any damage to or replacement of adjacent materials such as tile, flooring, walls, or cabinetry. Please confirm your tub is free of defects before final installation.

Installation Requirements

These are conditions of coverage. Skipping them voids the warranty.

  1. Inspect on delivery. Examine the crate and the tub before signing. Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt and photograph it. Freight damage must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Rest before hot water. Solid surface tubs must sit at room temperature for at least 24 hours before hot water is introduced.
  3. Water-test before enclosing. Fill the tub and confirm there are no leaks before any surround, tile, or enclosure is completed. Once a tub is enclosed, we cannot cover removal or reinstallation costs.
  4. Follow the installation manual. Drain line installation is the installer's responsibility; leaks originating in the drain line are not covered.

We strongly recommend a licensed plumber. Damage that occurs during installation — chips, scratches, cracks — is not covered by this warranty.

What Is Not Covered

  • Damage from misuse, abuse, accident, neglect, or intentional damage
  • Damage from improper installation, or installation not following our instructions
  • Damage occurring during installation
  • Damage from abnormal use, overloading, or extreme conditions (excessive heat, freezing, chemical exposure)
  • Any product that has been modified — cut, drilled, refinished, painted, or repaired by anyone other than Madenwell or an authorized agent
  • Consumables such as sealant and caulk
  • Normal wear: scratches, scuffs, hard water deposits, mineral staining, and dulling from cleaning or daily use
  • Leaks caused by improper installation of waste and overflow assemblies
  • Damage from acts of nature — earthquake, flood, fire, storm
  • Products purchased from unauthorized resellers

Cosmetic Notes That Are Not Defects

  • Minor blemishes, pinholes, or casting marks on the underside of a tub are inherent to the casting process. They do not affect performance or structural integrity and are not defects.
  • Slight variation in surface tone and sheen is a natural characteristic of solid surface material and is not a defect.
  • Surface variation does not affect structural integrity and is not covered as a structural claim.

About Dark and Non-White Finishes

Dark and heavily pigmented tubs use the same base material as white tubs, but they show dust, scratches, hazing, hard-water spots, salt residue, and everyday wear far more visibly than light or veined finishes. Dark tubs need more frequent cleaning and, over time, develop a patina that changes the surface sheen. Scratches are more visible and harder to correct.

For this reason, non-white solid surface tubs carry a 3-year surface finish warranty alongside the 20-year structural warranty. Scratches, scuffs, and other wear caused by use are not covered.

Bath salts are not recommended in dark solid surface tubs — they can leave visible residue. If you use them, rinse the tub thoroughly with plenty of soapy water immediately afterward.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Madenwell is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of use, water damage, or damage to surrounding property.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that vary from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

Returns Are Separate

This page covers defects — and when a defect is confirmed, we pay the shipping. If you simply changed your mind, that's a return, not a warranty claim. See our Return & Refund Policy, or start a return request.
